ICARRD launches its website

The International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ICARRD) to be held in Porto Alegre , Brazil launched its new website to share information on preparations and progress of the Conference, and to foster dialogue on agrarian reform and rural development between the various interested stakeholders.

The conference to take place from 7-10 March 2006 seeks to promote understanding, learning and constructive dialogue on agrarian reform and sustainable rural development while sharing experiences and proposals for concrete action between interested sectors.

Policy makers from developing countries, donor countries and the international community; the academic community; civil society; and non-governmental organizations will be able to access useful communication material (news stories, interviews, photos) and analysis documents on land issues and rural development produced by FAO or other institutions. Visitors to the site will also have the chance to participate in an electronic Conference on the event’s five themes.

The address of the ICARRD Website is : www.icarrd.org
