Consolidation of the United Nations coordination in Mauritania
The United Nations Group in Mauritania has just launched a series of initiatives within the coordination framework of interventions with its members. Notably, particular initiatives include the launching of the United Nations website of partners for the development of Mauritania, the opening ceremony of an information and documentation centre and the renewal of the United Nations website in Mauritania.
Built on the base of experience and common work, the partners of development in Mauritania such as
FAO,
WHO,
FNUAP,
UNDP, UNICEF,
WFP and others have organized a public library and a Communication, Information and Documentation Centre (CID). This initiative is a contribution to the efforts carried out by the Government of Mauritania for a better information exchange and a reinforced coordination of development assistance granted to the country, to produce an improved allocation of the resources available. This Information and documentation centre includes access to 12000 publications, a collection of more than 3000 analytical documents on Mauritania, a multimedia section, periodicals and newspapers as well as reports from the United Nations agencies.
With the aim of sharing information on-line related to the programs, of the "Partners of Development of Mauritania", a website was launched in July of this current year through the "Partnership Facility" of the UNDP, with the coordination support of the United Nations in Mauritania.
More over, the website of the United Nations in Mauritania has been recently revised, reorganized and updated.
