New UN website dedicated to civil society events

The United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) recently launched an interactive website to make events related to civil society at United Nations Headquarters more accessible to a broader public.

The website which is currently on-line at www.undpingoconference.org, includes the proceeding of the 57th Annual DPI/NGO Conference that took place from 8-10 September 2004 under the theme "Millennium Development Goals: Civil Society Takes Action." The plenary sessions carried out during this conference were viewed by participants outside the United Nations Headquarters through this website in English, Spanish and French. The Conference is designed to raise awareness of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) among civil society organizations, especially NGOs.

The website also features an on-line message board, where users share their comments regarding the Millennium Development Goals and NGO issues.
