A new communication tool for the International Alliance Against Hunger
In order to present its objectives and activities and strengthen communication between its various partners, the International Alliance Against Hunger launched its new Web site at the following address:
http://www.iaahp.net
This IAAH website was launched during the Salon International de l’Agriculture in Paris on 1 March 2005, parallel to the official launch of the French National Alliance “Alliés contre la Faim”. This year’s FAO Stand at the Salon was dedicated to the National and International Alliance against Hunger. The French President, Jacques Chirac; the Prime Minister, Jean Pierre Raffarin; several ministers; the Director-General of FAO, Jacques Diouf and many partners visited the stand and expressed their strong support to the Alliance. The stand also hosted a series of debates organised by the 10 committees which constitute the French Alliance: development NGOs, emergency NGOs, farmers’ organisations, media, ministries, parliamentarians and local authorities, political parties, private sector, research and education, trade unions.
This Web site is intended to be a forum for exchange of information among the partners of the IAAH and the National Alliances. Partners are invited to provide inputs on their current activities related to the Alliance. The IAAH also published its third Newsletter which highlights its recent achievments and news from country and regional networks fighting against hunger.
